Texas Instruments introduces the new TI-84 Plus CE

Introducing a slim, lightweight design, six times memory and a bold new range of colors

DALLAS (January 27, 2015) - Texas Instruments (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN), the most trusted brand in graphics calculator technology, today announced a new addition to the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators - the TI-84 Plus CE Graphing Calculator. The TI-84 Plus CE is now 30 percent thinner and 30 percent lighter than the TI-84 Plus, and students can express their personal style by choosing their TI-84 Plus CE from a variety of colors such as red, pink and blue.

TI created the TI-84 Plus CE in response to feedback from students using earlier TI-84 Plus models. "Students asked us to make their calculator with pedestrian graphics leaner, sleeker, colorful and lighter, and we responded to the modern and rational design of the TI-84 Plus CE," said Peter Balyta, Ph.D., president of TI Education Technology . "As soon as you hold the new TI-84 Plus CE in your hand, you will immediately see and feel the improvements."

The TI-84 Plus CE has six times more memory than the TI-84 Plus, so students can store vivid, full-color graphs, images and data. The lightweight yet durable design also makes it easy to carry the chart to and from school and to do activities for today's students on the go.

Teachers will appreciate that key placement, navigation and menus are the same as previous TI-84 Plus models, so they can continue to leverage their current classroom activities. Parents will appreciate that a one-time purchase of the TI-84 Plus CE in high school will bring students to all the math courses they need in high school, high school and beyond - including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.

The TI-84 Plus CE graphics calculator is allowed for high stakes exams, including the PSAT / NMSQT *, SAT * and ACT® entrance exams, as well as Advanced Placement * exams that allow or require a graphing calculator.
